How to Ace Academic Scholarship Interview Day
There are many important days in the lifecycle of a prospective ChathamU student, from the first time you visit campus to getting your ID at new student registration day, but an essential one is coming up fast: It’s Academic Scholarship Interview Day!
At this event, you can interview for an academic scholarship, meet one-on-one with a financial aid counselor to help answer your questions about college financing options, get to know future professors and classmates, and more! Check out our tips for success below from Director of Undergraduate Admission & Recruitment Brian F. Dwyer.
Dress for Success!
Even if an event is virtual, it is still a professional engagement opportunity with faculty. First impressions are always important, but do not over-think it! I encourage business casual.
Be Prepared!
Be familiar with Chatham's Mission & Values, and the ones you relate to the closest! Additionally, most students are able to reflect on activities or opportunities they are a part of which relate to their major, but also why Chatham is such a good fit for them.

Leadership!
Leadership and engagement are an important ethos of Chatham University. Being able to reflect on positive (and difficult) moments that helped you emerge stronger is always great to hear. Being able to identify challenges your generation faces, and associated solutions are always great talking points!

Conversation is Key!
While you are going to be asked questions, do not be afraid to ask questions yourself! This helps you also get a feel for your future professors here at Chatham.
Relax!
Our faculty are amazing individuals who very much enjoy the opportunity to speak and engage with students like yourself. Faculty always note this being one of their favorite campus events because they get to work with students like you!
Scholarships are great, but FIT is important!
This event is a great way to get stackable annual scholarships to Chatham. However, this event is structured to help you explore campus. Be sure to ask faculty questions, connect with students on their experience, take a tour of campus, check out residence halls, and grab a bite to eat in Anderson. Take time to prioritize experiencing parts of campus that are important to your decision!
