Each year, Chatham’s Out of the Darkness Walk, in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), serves as a space for those who have been affected by suicide to come together and share resources and support. Chatham’s new intergenerational living partnership with Vincentian Schenley Gardens gives health science students the opportunity to live alongside residents in an assisted care facility. In exchange for low monthly rent, students spend time with residents and offer activities that include everything from classes and outings to tech assistance and news curation.

Recent Grad 101: Carolyn Skowron
Carolyn Skowron graduated from Chatham in 2020 just after she survived a traumatic car accident. As a result, she wrote and published her first book, Unbreakable, where she explores her own mental health struggles, how she combats them, and how she hopes to shatter the stigmas around mental health.
